"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer." Albert Camus
The quiet embrace of winter, nature's canvas is painted with hues of stillness and serenity. As the world slows down, a unique connection between creativity, spirituality, and the teachings of A Course in Miracles, emerged in my life, offering a profound opportunity for introspection and renewal.
After a challenging year filled with changes that brought me a lot of anxiety, I felt the longing to create a daily, morning practice for myself through studying "A Course in Miracles", while maintaining my creative projects. I felt the need to intimately connect to my soul and my creator. Every morning, I immerse myself in the study and contemplation of ACM by the fireplace, which has been dissolving all the negative chatter that consumed me through the anxiety, all my fears and limited beliefs, while reminding me that, I am love and filled with creative power as the creator of my life. The effects of ACM is profound and the effects are felt immediately.
The Blanket of Creativity:
Winter's hushed landscape provides the perfect backdrop for the blossoming of creativity. Much like the snow that blankets the earth, this season invites us to explore the uncharted territories of our imagination. It is within the stillness of winter that the seeds of inspiration take root, urging us to tap into our inner reservoir of creativity. I have noticed a pattern of heightened creativity that seems to occur in me, every winter after the festivities. This is when I take a break from social media and social activities to tune-in with myself. This is when I feel the most inspired.
In the midst of frozen landscapes, artists find solace in the blank canvas, mirroring the tabula rasa of our own minds awaiting the strokes of innovation. For me this manifests as, new jewelry designs, new painting ideas and ideas for content creation. The chill in the air carries whispers of possibility, inviting us to craft stories, compose melodies, and paint visions that echo the silent beauty of winter, that rich, creative void of silence, within ourselves, where everything is possible.
Spiritual Reverie in Winter's Embrace:
Winter is a season of introspection, encouraging us to delve into the depths of our spiritual selves. The crisp air sharpens our awareness, prompting contemplation on the interconnectedness of all things. In the quietude of winter's embrace, spirituality blossoms like a delicate winter flower, teaching us to listen to the subtle whispers of our souls. A Course in Miracles, a spiritual guide, aligns seamlessly with the essence of winter's spirituality. Its teachings emphasize love, forgiveness, and the recognition of our innate divinity. As the world rests beneath the snowy veil, we find echoes of these principles in the silence that surrounds us, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of our spiritual journey.
A Course in Miracles: Illuminating the Winter Path:
Rooted in the belief that love is the essence of all creation, A Course in Miracles serves as a guiding light through the winter of our souls. Its teachings encourage us to see beyond the surface of life, cultivating a mindset of compassion and forgiveness towards ourselves and others. As the winter winds whisper the wisdom of surrender, the course echoes the importance of letting go and embracing the inherent peace within. Just as winter unveils the hidden beauty of the world beneath its frosty exterior, A Course in Miracles invites us to uncover the truth obscured by the distractions of daily life. In the dance of snowflakes, we find a metaphor for life's unique expressions, each intricate detail contributing to the grand tapestry of existence.
The winter is a great season for introspection and to start your transformative journey. Embracing the hibernation of nature, we discover the warmth within, nurturing the seeds of creativity and spiritual understanding. In this season of quiet miracles, let us embark on a journey of self-discovery, guided by the soft whispers of winter's wisdom.
Creative Prompt:
Explore the idea of inner warmth amid external coldness. Create a piece that symbolizes the inner fires of resilience, hope, or personal growth, contrasting with the winter. For example, you can create a painting, a song or short story that brings warmth to your heart, by creating a piece that will bring the internal fire to life, while you hibernate in your warm home by the fire. I promise you that by doing this, any feelings of darkness, that is common from the lack of sun & vit. D, will completely dissipate. I find that painting with warm colors of magenta, oranges and yellows affect my wellbeing. Also working on my blog in the evenings by the fire ignites my internal fire. When I make time for creative projects during the winter, my mood is not affected by sad -seasonal, affective disorder.
